It is a requirement of CDG 2009 (The carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009) and ADR (European Agreement concerning the international carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) chapter 8.2 that drivers are trained and have in their possession a VTC (vocational training certificate / ADR licence) when transporting DANGEROUS GOODS.
Welwyn L.G.V. Driver Training is a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) approved training centre. SQA set and administer examinations for and on behalf of The Department for Transport (DfT).
Initial and Refresher Training courses are delivered in house by our own registered Instructors.
Initial courses are for people who are new to the movement of dangerous goods or for those who have let their existing licence lapse.
Refresher courses are for people wishing to re-new the existing categories on their licence. (To add additional categories you must attend an Initial course)
The ADR licence is valid for a 5 year renewable period.

Initial Courses are of 3-5 days duration dependent on the classifications required from the above list. A Refresher course is only to renew the existing classifications on your licence and the duration of the course would be reduced.
